Amaral Cunha
Headmaster - Botafogo Unit

He is a Physician graduated from UPE (University of Pernambuco), with a master’s degree in education from Framingham University in Framingham, Mass, USA. Amaral has more than 25 years of experience in education as a teacher of English, biology, anatomy, and theory of knowledge. For 14 years, he worked at Graded School (American School in São Paulo, SP, Brazil) and for the last three years acted as the coordinator of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. Today, he embraces the challenge of leading the Eleva School team to achieve the school mission by capitalizing on his professional knowledge and experience.

Maria Carmem Badaró
Headmaster - Barra da Tijuca Unit

Carminha is one of the founders of Espaço Os Batutinhas, in Rio de Janeiro, which has been a very innovative and successful early childhood center for over 25 years. She acted as a consultant and worked very closely together with the Eleva team on the design of the early childhood education curriculum. Carminha, as an expert on early childhood education, brings cutting edge education methodologies and world best practices, possesses a great ability to manage teams, exhibits high sensitivity towards student family matters and an absolute passion for education.

Isabella Sá
Headmaster - Brasília Unit

Graduated in psychology in Brazil, she specialized in child development at The Tavistock and Portman National Health Service (NHS) Trust, in London, England and completed a master’s degree in guidance and educational counseling, at Long Island University, in New York, USA. Psychopedagogist with a background in school management, Isabella believes in lifelong education and training of the educator. At present, she is deepening her studies in neurosciences and new learning methodologies as part of the Project Zero of the Harvard School of Education.

Marcio Cohen
Eleva School's General Director

Graduated in engineering and mathematics and being passionate about education, he chose to be an educator.  He holds degrees from the Military Engineering Institute (IME) Brazil, from the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA) both located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Marcio is Alex’s father who is three years old and now he faces the rewarding challenge of educating at home and at school. He worked as a math teacher and school principal at Pensi and as a strategic consultant at McKinsey Consulting firm before returning to Brazil as one of the leaders of Eleva Education. He was one of masterminds for the conception of the Eleva Schools. Today Marcio Cohen’s main objective is to guarantee the integration and materialization of three pillars that support the school mission: academic excellence, life intelligence, and global citizenship.

Duda Falcão
Eleva School's Executive Director and Eleva Educação CO-CEO

Graduated in business administration from the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville, Virginia USA. Duda is a founding partner of Gera Venture, a fund focused 100% on Education. She is currently co-CEO of the Eleva Educação Group and Chairman of the Eleva School Board. She began her career as a consultant at McKinsey Consulting firm, worked at PCP-UBS Pactual and at the Municipal Education Secretary of Rio de Janeiro city coordinating a strategic project for early childhood. Duda loves sports, runs daily and is the mother of Maria Clara and João Felipe, 18-month-old twins.
