Amaral Cunha

Amaral holds a Masters degree in Education from Framingham University, a Medical degree from UPE (University of Pernambuco), and has more than 25 years of experience in education as an English, Biology, Anatomy and Theory of Knowledge teacher. For 14 years, he worked at the Graded School (Escola Americana de São Paulo), the last three as Coordinator of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Today, he embraces the challenge to lead the project of building Escola Eleva, putting into practice the best of what he has experienced in education.

Isabella Sá
Pedagogical Director of Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education

Isabella graduated in Psychology in Brazil, specialized in Child Development at The Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, London, and Master of Guidance and Educational Counseling In A Systematic Approach, from Long Island University, New York. A psycho-pedagogue with training in School Management, Isabella believes in the continuous formation of educators and is currently deepening her studies in Neuroscience and the Bilingual Brain.

Tatiana Levy
International Curriculum Coordinator Early Years

Teacher, pedagogue, specialist in Early Childhood Education from PUC-RJ and Master of Education from Framingham State University, Tatiana has worked for 20 years in public and private schools in Rio de Janeiro, especially in international schools such as OLM, EARJ and British.

Dulce Simas
International Baccalaureate Coordinator

Dulce joined the Eleva team in 2017, after 30 years as a Sciences and Biology teacher at the American School of Rio de Janeiro, where she coordinated the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program from 2011 to 2017. She has a graduate degree in Biological Sciences at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and a Masters in Education from the Framingham State University.

Cristiane Sanches
Coordinator of Information Technology and Education

Cristiane is a Data Processing Technology Graduate and a Master in Information Technology from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. She worked as coordinator of IT projects in the NGO Sociedade Digital, and as technical-pedagogical coordinator of the NAVE-RJ digital games programming course.

Laís Fontenelle

Master in Clinical Psychology from PUC-Rio, Lais is author of a monthly column about childhood for Outras Palavras website. In the last decade, she was in the third sector discussing issues related to children’s rights, consumption, media and sustainability, and coordinated the Projeto Criança e Consumo of Instituto Alana, which brought advertising for children to the national agenda.

Evaldo Palatinsky
Pedagogical Coordinator of High School

Evaldo holds degrees in Philosophy (Unioeste-PR), Theology (São Bento) and Journalism (UFRJ). He is a postgraduate in Philosophy (PUC-RJ), Pedagogy (UCAM) and holds a MBA in Business Management (FGV). As an educator, he has been working for more than 25 years in Middle School and High School, teaching Philosophy and as a Pedagogical Coordinator.

Carlos Toledo
Pedagogical Coordinator of Middle School

Doctor in Science, Technology and Education, Toledo holds a degree in Physics. As an educator, he has taught for 15 years in schools in Rio de Janeiro, having worked as a Physics Coordinator for 10 years. His articles on Science Teaching have been published in Portugal, Spain, Argentina and Brazil.

Luciana Salgado
Pedagogical Coordinator of Lower School

An Engineer by training, Luciana has a Certificate for Overseas Teacher of English from Cambridge. She has more than 20 years of classroom experience as a teacher and English coordinator for Elementary and Early Childhood students at Escola Conviver, in Recife, where she built the bilingual curriculum and also coordinated the ESL program (English as a Second Language).

Alexia Mayer
Pedagogical Coordinator of Early Childhood Education

Alexia studied at the American School in Rio de Janeiro from the age of three, and later graduated as a psychologist at PUC-Rio. She was a trainee at Os Batutinhas Kindergarten, where she worked as a teacher for many years and as a coordinator until her departure for Escola Eleva.

Patricia Franco
Coordinator of Assistance for Early Childhood Education

Patricia Franco is a Pedagogue with a postgraduate degree in Psychopedagogy. She has been working in schools for 18 years, both in Early Childhood Education and Lower School. In her continued education, she has taken courses in neurosciences, family therapy, reader training, literacy training, among other areas.
