ABILITY OF ABSTRACTION

 

At this stage, students develop logical-deductive thinking, which allows for mental experimentation: finding links among abstract concepts and applying reason to hypotheses.

 

ABILITY OF APPLICATION

 

Middle Years students develop cognitive structures at a high level, gaining the aptitude to apply logical reasoning to all types of problems.

 

PROTAGONISM AND COLLABORATION

 

We believe school environment is prone to the development of a collaborative young person who will participate in society. Through texts, films, debates and interviews, students get prepared to face issues they will encounter in their own lives, be they related to family, community or politics.

 

ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITY

 

Do I want to? Can I? Should I?

 

These are three questions that guide our ethical behavior. To educate for ethical responsibility is to provoke individual consciousness, a constant exercise at home and at school – a daily focus of our work as educators.

 

CREATIVITY

 

Every individual is creative. Nonetheless, it is essential to have a familiar and positive school environment for creativity to develop. We are open to newness and experimentation; error is considered merely a step in the learning process. Eleva students are offered a multitude of opportunities to challenge their creative potential, which is encouraged by an environment of positive expectations related to their performance.
