In this stage, students develop logical-deductive thinking, which allows for mental experimentation: finding links among abstract concepts and applying reason to hypotheses.
ABILITY OF APPLICATION
A Middle Years student develops cognitive structures at a high level, gaining the aptitude for application of logical reasoning to all types of problems.
PROTAGONISM AND COLLABORATION
We believe that the school environment is propitious to the development of a collaborative young person who will participate in society. Through the study of texts, films, debates and interviews, students are prepared to face the questions and issues that they will encounter in their own lives, be they related to family, community or politics.
Do I want to? Can I? Should I?
These are three questions to orient our ethical behavior. To educate for ethical responsibility is to provoke individual conscientiousness, a constant exercise at home and at school - a daily focus of our work as educators.
Every individual is creative. Nonetheless, it is essential to have a familiar and positive school environment for creativity to develop. Our school is open to newness and experimentation; error is considered merely a step in the learning process. Eleva students are offered a multitude of opportunities to challenge their creative potential, which is incentivized by an environment of positive expectations related to their performance.
